In lieu of traditional longer blog posts, I’m experimenting with offering you, my lovely readers, a simple Tip of the Week. I’d love to know what you think!
My first tip gets a wee bit personal. That’s right, ladies, it’s time to talk about, ahem, foundation garments.
We all need to wear ‘em, but nobody–not even Dolly Parton herself–needs an entire drawer of stretched out, too loose, too tight, or just too darn complicated bras taking up real estate in her dresser.
When was the last time you reached into the far corners of that lingerie drawer and really assessed the quality of those lady lifters?
When I adopted minimalism, I too had a drawer full of padded hopes and dreams. But when I got realistic about how many bras I needed, liked, and wore regularly, I minimized to three. That’s right, three. And my coverage needs are, well, covered.
Here’s how I did it and you can, too:
First, get real about which bras you like and wear regularly. You probably have a favorite 2-3. Those are keepers. Get rid of the dingy, stretched out, gappy, and pinchy. You know you hate to wear them, so why are you wasting your precious drawer space?
Now that you’ve cleared out, you may think you need new bras.
Hold that thought.
Try wearing just your favorite bras for one week. Are these enough? If so, consider your bra decluttering capital-D DONE. If your ladies need a few more players on the roster, get yourself to a decent department store and go shopping. Your ta-tas deserve it!
Remember, this week’s tip will bring you one step closer to less stuff and more peace of mind. Cheers to that!
Love, Rose
